Frank Knight played a season with Toronto Argonauts before enrolling at U of T. Returning to the Argos after graduating, he earned a reputation from 1913-15 as the most effective outside wing of his era. A dentist by profession, he coached the team in 1927-28.

Earl Selkirk graduated from the Toronto Argonauts juniors to the senior team in 1937, and that fall kicked the winning field goal of the 1937 Grey Cup game. After WW2 he was named team manager, his teams winning 3 straight Grey Cups from 1945-47.
