One of our Crew Managers Luke, has arrived for his shift. A whopping 11 hours additional availability to a rural community.
#PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst
Both our crew managers are heading “to the North” this morning, where we can make an impact at ‘three’ on call stations… yep, two crew managers, three stations covered. 📟 🎶
#PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst
Two stations being supported by our two awesome Crew Managers. 📟 ✅
We’ve attended our first emergency of the day, which was a report of a domestic property on fire.
#PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst
📟 🎶 Straight back at it this morning, we’ve already attended two incidents. 📟 🎶 🚒
One providing strategic fire cover and another with a lorry on its side and the driver trapped.

We did enough! Three brand new level one commanders now on the run. It’s been a fantastic course with some very high standards demonstrated. Good Luck for the future, we look forward to hearing you on the radio “Temporary Crew Commander in charge”

Watch Manager Harvey Hillson, briefing our role players, he is explaining that we are testing our ‘fire survival guidance’ and our response to a serious fire at the college. #PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst

Another day, with all our on call fire engines on the run and available for their communities. Only one crew requiring support of a supervisory manager from our team. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst
A cold start to the day (heated windscreens are the best! 🥶) - as our team set off to provide fire cover at four on-call stations. 📟 🎶 - after completing ‘checks’ we’ll be meeting up on teams with a busy day ahead. #PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst
Yesterday a cohort of level 2 intermediate commanders, undertook an exercise. Together they dealt with large scale flooding, water rescues and other incidents. A really valuable exercise to ensure we are ready for anything. Not just fires. #PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst
Our command support team are in the middle of a ‘major incident’ under the direction of instructors from K Lamb Associates - plenty of learning points coming, helping equip our commanders for the future. #PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst
Chesterfield never stopped & after a short pause due to staff being off due to COVID-19 we restarted bulky household waste. Chesterfield Borough Council #PuttingOurCommunitiesFirst 👏for our collection teams.
This is the difference a #Labour Council makes. Our vision for #Chesterfield #puttingourcommunitiesfirst
Was a pleasure to be part of this yesterday. Chesterfield Borough Council has put #skills & #apprenticeships front and centre of all we do through our use of Local Labour Clauses in #Chesterfield and upskilling our own workforce #PuttingourCommunitiesFirst
This was the result of excellent partnership working between Councillors and officers which we are very proud of at Chesterfield Borough Council. #puttingourcommunitiesfirst #improvingwellbeing LGA Labour
A busy day for Fire Investigator Rich, working alongside CSI, Nottinghamshire Police colleagues and other agencies to bring this incident to a close. #OneTeam #fireinvestigation #nottsfire #puttingourcommunitiesfirst
We would also like to extend sincere thanks to the County Grand Lodge of Glasgow, who liaised closely with the police inspector for the area as well as Glasgow City Council procession officer in dealing with the vandalism in the area.

The fast paced fire scene pushed the candidates, to make them feel uncomfortable, so that they had to make difficult, challenging and complex decisions. We are exceptionally proud of them!
