Multiple overflows observed along the #RiverFoss after our rain this afternoon in #York . One in particular had a very distinctive sewage smell. Walked past the River Foss yesterday to see large numbers of dead fish in the water. I went past today and there is even more!

𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏, and with all the high water events we’ve had this last few months, there’s plenty of balsam coming through. We’re going to start pulling at the beginning of June and carry on until it goes to seed!

Lovely quiet amble along the #FossFairyTrail this afternoon, thankfully in peace due the #RiverFoss in flood. A treat to spot a #goldcrest and patches of humble but determined #snowdrops LDV NNR RSPB Birders

We’ll be out and about with our gazebo again this Saturday!

Litter pickers will be setting off at 9am on land and on the council barge, Foxy.
It’s eye boggling how much is collected in one morning.
We’ll be at the stand to talk about the health of the Foss.
