How my travel to and from Slieve Aughty Centre is done most days. Scenic, slow and fun! #SlowTheSpread
The garden is looking good Slieve Aughty Centre Lots of work has been done, thanks to Esther and her volunteers :)
Fallow deer are present in my west of Ireland wood. Is it really so terrible? #slieveaughty #atlanticforest

Less than 0.2% of the country is old growth woodland, mostly small fragments. Over 20 years, against all odds, my wood has managed to expand over the old boundary wall into an adjacent #Coillte plantation. These fragments need to be given room to thrive. #rewilding #SlieveAughty
Decay and renewal - that is what a #temperatewodland is about in this season. A truly spectacular year for fungi AND a mast year, the oaks are laden down with acorns. Jays already screeching in anticipation #rewilding #nativewoodland #slieveaughty
Hard to believe that the median size of an ancient woodland fragment in Ireland is only 3 Ha. This makes them vulnerable. Mine once formed part of the great #SlieveAughty sessile oak forest. The Woodland League #irishrainforest #rewilding
Our newly repaired pizza oven. It only needs some more drying, a clean up and we'll soon be ready to cook again Slieve Aughty Centre

We have opened our centre to a limited access. Only horse riders with their own gear, our forest walks and picnic orders. We have our protocols in place, an infomation table with my number for info and ordering into the kitchen. Slieve Aughty Centre #supportlocal #organic #walking
