With a dynamic landscape to roam, it’s intriguing to see what morsels the Tamworth pigs favour.

This Tamworth is crunching on swan mussels, a large species of freshwater mussel.

Meet the Ranger! He arrived at Knepp just before Christmas to get to know our Tamworth sows.

It’s important that we maintain a diverse gene pool, which is why we borrow boars from further afield.

Once he’s done his duty, he’ll be sent home again.

Birds like jackdaws and magpies often hitch a ride on our animals' backs. This magpie seems to be waiting to see what grubs might emerge from the pig's rootling.

Having spent the autumn hoovering up acorns, the Tamworths have turned their attention to rootling, turning over clods of turf with their snouts in search of roots and rhizomes, earthworms and other invertebrates.

In hot weather our Tamworths regulate their body temperature by eating less, relaxing in the shade, wallowing in mud holes or taking a dip in the lake.
