There are, in the Garrotxa Volcanic Park, about 40 volcanic cones, 10 craters and over 20 lava flows. Let’s see how many I can tick off over the next few days. First up is Volcà de Racó (610m).

At 788m, Volcà Croscat is the highest in the Garrotxa. The north-eastern flank was quarried for construction material until the 1980s when the local population protested that their landscape was being eaten away. This led to the creation of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone.
