The four lifted off from Ridgecrest in the Mojave Desert. I could see HBAL656 from my home yesterday.
They navigate under their own power.
The balloon over the Diablo Range in Monterey County surely hasn't been measuring weather for 36 hours.

Something new (to me) to try and to play with....tracking weatherballoons. Using a RTL-SDR V3 dongle, attic antenna and the RS41 Windows tracker software, which runs fine on a Linux machine with Wine.

Alaska airspace was just penetrated by the next amateur balloon. What will happen? The rainbow lines are where it may drift in the future.
Track it live (if it lives on) here: amateur.sondehub.org/#!mt=Mapnik&mz…
