Achillea growing wild in a hedgerow attracting pollinators- a great plant for the garden too & can be found in so many different flower colours. Low maintenance perennial ideal for wildlife πŸ’œπŸ¦‹πŸ

Spent the morning on the search for red squirrels at beach and did briefly see two of them. Unfortunately I was not very stealthy so they took one look at me and scarpered.

We managed to squeeze in a quick second walk today to get our steps up and it was a wonderful contrast from our first woodland walk. We are so lucky that Islay ticks every box on what your scenery preferences are

This small swarm of gnats was dancing through the sunbeams. It wasn’t until later that I noticed they look like fairies.

(Fyi, the collective noun is β€œa herd of fairies”, apparently. If you didn’t know, now you know)

Calm Orkney days make cliff edge exploration a safer option than normal, with this stretch of coastline an absolute delight to wander along.

Sons’ first butterfly of the year; orange tip. Five year old misheard, and cavorted round the field yelling, β€œthe orange tits are back!” Also, two mega bumbles, more tadpoles and fields upon fields of daisies and dandelions
