Stuart and I had the honor of writing a manifesto for Transom.org about why we founded IMI. It ends with our vision for a media ecosystem that supports independent creators (with diagrams)... but it's mostly a personal look at the journey that got us here.

Why would two young philanthropists & scientists want to fund independent media? Elaine & Stuart Sevier are committing to a new media model and their manifesto has us thinking about where the spirit of our profession might go.
