Ted also broke the news that the feds are investigating Vince McMahon — a story that he managed to get across the finish line despite the chaos of the last few days. That story is on the front page of the Journal today. Ted Mann is the real deal.

If you care about good government, you should care about the role of money & influence in politics.

3 of the best journalists on that beat — Brody Mullins, Julie Bykowicz & Jeanne Cummings — were among the layoffs at the The Wall Street Journal yesterday.

This is bad for media, but also for democracy.

The The Wall Street Journal DC bureau is the most talented, collaborative and genuinely kind place I have ever worked. That’s because of all of the great people who called it home.

We lost so many tremendous reporters and editors today. Each would be a great addition to any newsroom. Hire them.

In his long career, Biden largely stayed out of immigration issues. He shifted leftward on it during Trump admin--partly influenced by his wife. But after 3 years of criticism, he views it as a political liability, is willing to cut a deal w/ R's even if it breaks 2020 promises

.Akbar Shahid Ahmed is a stellar reporter whose coverage of the conflict has been essential reading. It's one thing to dispute a story or aspects of it, but to suggest a reporter is making up quotes is a serious accusation and not in any way reflective of Akbar's professionalism.

With Israeli tanks at their door, Gaza doctors asked Israel to allow ambulances to get to them to evacuate 3 tiny babies trapped in battlezone. When the Israeli order came to leave, no help had arrived. The babies were left behind.

ICYMI from Tarini Parti last week:

Kamala Harris 'has become increasingly involved in the administration’s handling of the conflict ... Harris has pushed for the White House to articulate more empathy for Palestinians and to focus on a postconflict Gaza plan.' wsj.com/politics/kamal…
