And there comes a time when fundamental rights scholars need a lawyer to defend their right to defend the rights of others from disproportionate intervention. Never did I think this need would arise for me in Germany. In 2024.

This is spiralling out of control, now conservative politicians are demanding that academics defending the right of students to protest (without even supporting their demands) are placed under observation by domestic intelligence. Do they realise how Sisi-esque this is? Insane.
