Minor league baseball has been around for about 150 years. Today the average team attracts about 3,000 fans.
Obviously, the solution is just better marketing and more investment!
As we say in Slaying the Trolls!...
When it comes to sports, men love men!

As I note in my econ history book ('The Last Hero's Lesson') when I discuss the Wizard of Oz, the story is ultimately about the witches (and Glinda ain't no 'good witch!')
Nice to a see a movie that clearly centers the witches in the tale!

Women are growing their economic, political and social independence. If the result of that is a decrease in birth rates men should that seriously about how that reflects on the systems and structures we have created and continue to assert. A world they are saying “no” to.

Very much like the name Golden State Valkyries.
Will take me some time to learn how to spell 'Valkyries'.
But I like it!

in a sold out arena in CT watch two #1 Draft picks. I will never get tired of this energy.

One of our W owners said it best: To everyone who doubted, we told you so. And to everyone who has been here supporting, we’re just getting started.

Welcome to SZN 28!

My latest for Forbes discusses new data I’ve been working on with SBRnet to examine fan social media engagement and sponsorship influence. Fans of the WNBA are much more engaged than fans of other leagues - sponsors should be flocking to the league!

When I was a kid and my mom (who LOATHES boxing) said 'I think the Sugar Ray Leonard fight is on' I knew Sugar Ray had transcended boxing.

I got the same feeling today when my old man said 'Caitlin Clark is playing tonight'... she is transcendent

My old man just told me on the phone 'Caitlyn is on tonight!' Then he complained about how they make the women play pro games when they just completed college schedule... but the headline is he's excited about WNBA! David Berri sports.yahoo.com/caitlin-clarks…

This is around the time Adam Silver was asking why the WNBA didn't have more fans. He just couldn't figure it out. It was a mystery!

The most anticipated season in history tips off tonight. In addition to ESPN2 & ESPN+, the opening doubleheader will be the first non-animated live sports events on Disney+: bit.ly/3QJ9JLh

Great to see these WNBA matchups in the featured carousel on the App.

As we celebrate the start of what will be an amazing WNBA season, let us not forget -- as I said on WBUR yesterday -- the women are still only paid about 10% of league revenue.
And the men in the MNBA were never, ever paid this poorly.
