City Manager George J. Proakis is pleased to announce the appointment of Watertown native Justin Hanrahan as the new Police Chief for the City of Watertown effective November 30, 2023.

After 38 years of service, Thomas Rocca, who has served as provisional chief of the #Watertown Police Department for the past 16 months, had his final roll call on Wednesday afternoon as he heads into retirement. Rocca first joined WPD on March 3, 1986. City of Watertown, MA

Please be aware that there is no trash or recycling pickup on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023.

The holiday postpones pickup by one day. Thursday’s pickup will be on Friday, November 24, and Friday’s pickup will be on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Watertown City Hall and Senior Center will be closed on November 23 & 24, 2023 and the Library will be closing at 5 PM on November 22 & will be closed on November 23, 2023 for Thanksgiving.

There is NO trash or recycling pickup on Thanksgiving Day. Pickup is November 24 and 25.
