🚨EXCLUSIVE: The *majority* of deadlines issued to farmers in the last four years to improve environmental performance have been missed..

..and over half (thousands) of those actions not completed on time related to water quality 🐔💩🐖

.RiverActionUK's charles watson said the data adds to evidence of 'continuous non-compliance across the sector & worsening pollution of our rivers from diffuse agricultural pollution'. He didn't have kind words for the EA's ‘advisory’ enforcement approach..

The Wye valley needs every piece of nature that grows to suck up the huge quantities of phosphorus dumped into its soils by industrialised livestock farming. Heartbreaking to then read this ⬇️⬇️

Our water industry:
💰£78bn dividends stripped out
🤑 £64bn debt burden
🤮Millions of gallons of sewage continuously pumping out
💀major threat to wildlife & human heath
This is clearly a failed industry in need of major surgery

Thanks to Gavin McEwan for covering this scandal.

Despite raising the alarm with the Environment Agency for months about the most polluted site that we monitor in the Wye catchment - we’re still waiting for action.

The Spring = 5 yrs since new housing was banned in nearly half of Herefordshire due to River pollution
It later transpired that new housing was not the cause, nor could it offer the solution - but we are still under a ban
Collateral & futile damage whilst the catchment declines

WARNING☠️ no rain but Thames Water 💧 spills sewage in Aldbourne streets, putting my family & community health at risk

So RiverActionUK is testing how much dangerous E.coli🦠 could get into our homes

But will Environment Agency act on the evidence?!

A primary cause of river pollution in rural catchments across pastoral UK. Slurry from dairy farms and indoor livestock. Time for system change. NB I am not a vegetarian nor vegan. Just in case assumptions are made.
