Most people are still only a walk short bus ride away from being able to pop in to a small venue, part with £10 and see three bands full of people who have always dreamed of playing there, have worked hard to play there. It’s worth a tiny levy on the £daft arena prices to keep it

I’ve heard it said a style of music we are often associated with, popularly known as ‘shoegaze’, is making a roaring comeback.

Be this the case, where do we go to jump on the bandwagon? Or were we so far ahead of the curve, that we are in fact streets ahead of said wagon?

Webster’s dictionary defines X as:

- the 24th letter of the English alphabet

- an unknown quantity

One finds oneself asking if these are the properties required of a platform to promote music these days.

Are we simply barking up the wrong tree? Where do we go from here?

Well, that went well.

The pursuit to discover what X can do for a band in 2024 goes on.

So far:

Celebrity endorsement ❌
Make friends with similar artists ❌

What shall we try next? Add our music to cat videos? And should we even be asking you? Much to think about.

We’d love some recs for noisy/dreamy artists around the UK who might be interested in doing a bit of gig swapping. Venues that are feedback and reverb friendly recs would also be cool.

Any ideas? I imagine the likes of DeanShoegazeBromley ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ or YogiShoegazer would be able to help…
