Heartening to see a bunch of creators raising cash for aid for Palestinians.

Particularly great to see such a range of creators involved too.

I suppose it doesn't matter since JP's outfits are often devoid of language or a sense of tradition. But wearing a long tie with a dinner jacket (see the shiny facings) is quite bad taste. It should be worn with a bow tie (and a better shirt collar)

Working on a video about the myth of objectivity and how it applies to debate/logic culture, especially in the YouTube and streaming spaces.

Who are folks you associate with relying on 'objectivity' and 'facts' in the debate and video essay spaces?

If there a name for the phenomenon where people (often in tech) articulate a well-known idea from the humanities as if they're inventing it for themselves?

(example: Sam Altman thinking he invented emergent materialism.)

On today's stream we're going to talk about OpenAI CEO Sam Altman 'discovering' the philosophy of mind, and the weird trend of tech geniuses who seem to have never read any books.

Lot's of very chill and normal comments on our most recent video on the student protests on American college campuses.

Obviously this is not a new or controversial statement in the history of philosophy.

To ask the obvious question: how can intelligence NOT be emergent?

Tech bros these days get off on dressing up high school philosophy Qs as new problems that their big brains are tackling.
