Just heard Kemi Badenoch say that Brits now go on holiday to Rwanda. Does anyone have the figures for British tourism to Rwanda?

Sorry to flog a dead horse here, but just in the interests of accuracy: D Murray appears not to have noticed that I said at length that Clark's Civ had been hugely influential on ME, started my career in a way; & I recommended rewatching! Can't please..! tinyurl.com/28h2ut5z

'I had fondly imagined the elderly artist in his final years proudly hobbling around a city much of which he had designed. No such luck.'

So delighted to hear mary beard decry Bluey’s Bandit for his infuriatingly – she says “creepy” – perfect parenting. I had to ban the show during lockdown. Couldn’t take it.

mary beard Antigone Journal Michael McNeil I watched it, and I didn't think you were attacking him.

In fact, I thought your point that he was able to 'tell a story' was a good one and explains why a 1969 series is still compelling where later efforts have not been.

Same goes for Robert Hughes on modern art.

Everyone has their own K Clark... Mine is the Scottish socialist, pioneering democratiser, brilliant scholar, enthralling writer, traiblazer for a new museum age, advocate for the contemporary, scourge of aristocracy & academia alike, and also prob a very irritating snob!

If people would like to see what I said in a few minutes to provoke the ire of some cuture warriors, here it is tinyurl.com/mu7x3aee I think that K Clark himself would have engaged more constructively and politely!
