Johnson went from being a backbencher to a member of the Gang of 4. He’s gone from 0 real intel awareness to mainlining the strongest stuff—covert actions, ultrasensitive collection programs, exquisite source reporting. Some of that has shaken him, and he’s said as much publicly.

Some famous professor in Geneva, New York wrote an article, duly published by Verso, as to why killing civilians is great & how she was so excited about 10/7.

What else is new? For these bored folks, we, the people of Middle East, only exist as subjects of their fantasies

Rewriting a lede, killing darlings, excising thousands of words from a draft. Easy, they said. A little trimming, they said

I was there in Baghdad for the onset of these disastrous decisions. Can confirm that CIA officers on the ground vehemently objected to the Bremmer buffoonery. More specifically, and those that know, know, - my old friend and mentor “Charlie” was absolutely right.

US plans to label goods from Jewish settlements in occupied West Bank [ie, to apply rules that apply everywhere requiring accurate labeling of point-of-origin of exports, rather than allowing Israel to hide/lie re origin of goods to normalize settlements] ft.com/content/f0df1d…

Huge embarrassment to Brigadier-General Yossi Sariel the commander of the prestigious Israeli intelligence unit 8200. The Guardian exposes his full name following a book which Sariel himself authored in 2021. He wrote a book about AI under his name's acronym as YS and published

Tough to square the White House stance that Israel has committed zero IHL violations in Gaza with what Haaretz reports here—a widespread practice of declaring free-fire zones around IDF positions, within which IHL principle of discrimination is abandoned haaretz.com/israel-news/20…

Agree, but targeting disaster implies a mistake/accident. Not the case here.

Per Haaretz.com, IDF knew what they were hitting and made the call b/c an alleged “armed man” was seen w/ WCK convoy.

Three separate “rifles”—air-to-ground missile launches—speaks to intentionality.

There’s a lot of discussion about the need for Israel to “reestablish deterrence” after 10/7, but even before the reported strike on the IRGC commander, they’ve been hitting targets in Syria at will.

One year ago, Russian security forces arrested The Wall Street Journal journalist Evan Gershkovich on baseless espionage charges. He is being unjustly held in Moscow. The world is looking to U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Roger D. Carstens and President Biden to find a way to bring him home.
