Chinooks from RAF Odiham relocated to RAF Shawbury for a two-week exercise to practice operating from different locations.
This helps ensure that the heavy-lift helicopters are ready to fly and fight whenever and wherever required.

Over the past two weeks, 18 (Bomber) Squadron have been flying in support of Ex Pegasus Fury from RAF Shawbury
The exercise has seen three aircraft flying a number of different and varied sortie profiles, including trooping, low-level flying, mountain flying and threat evasion training.
What a great couple of weeks! Thanks for hosting us, RAF Shawbury. Great training for us, and great to show off the capabilities of the Chinook to students going though their flying courses now.
Last week, we invited the 1st Odiham Rainbows and Brownies to visit RAF Odiham to have a look around a Chinook, learn how our helicopters fly, and about all the different jobs it takes to get just one helicopter in to the air.

Approaching the end of another busy week for the squadron. Bring on the next! Our engineers, aircrew, and ops staff have been working hard to prepare for the next couple of weeks of training at RAF Shawbury, enabling us to train new skills in new locations.
Earlier this week, we provided the flypast at the RAF College Cranwell for the graduation of 25 Officer Training Course. With ACM Sir Rich Knighton watching, not a time on target you want to miss!
