Radfan - A concerted operation involving 3 PARA, 45 Commando and Federal troops to capture the Dhanaba Basin, a Radfan tribal stronghold, began in April 1964.
3 PARA lost two killed and several wounded clearing the fort and village buildings at El Naquil.

The new Colchester The Parachute Regimental Association is up and running. Great to see the old and new generations of Paratroopers gathered together.

#normandy79 Troops from 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team & #theparas flew early today from RAF Brize Norton to jump on to a DZ West of Sannerville. The flight, in a C-130, was to mark the 79th Anniversary of the 6th Airborne Division's Operation Tonga and Normandy Landings in 1944 (6th June).
