Appreciated the open and useful discussion on the situation in Myanmar and its implications for the neighborhood.

At the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, CEO Anoulak Kittikhoun participated in the high-level Antalya Diplomacy Forum (1-3 March 2024) to explore potential partnerships with Türkiy, including working with the Turkish Water Institute (SUEN).

“The Mekong should not be a place for rivalry,” says CEO Anoulak. He adds while China is becoming more transparent, info-sharing “cannot happen overnight” due to Beijing’s centralized system and its concerns that information shared would be “misused”. bit.ly/46hBnUX

The six countries gathered today in Vientiane for the annual Dialogue Partners Meeting to engage in open dialogues and further enhance the cooperative framework of the MRC. Several significant issues were discussed, resulting in positive outcomes.

On 26 September 2023, CEO Anoulak Kittikhoun participated in the Regional Partners Meeting , which was co-hosted by the Sida and the UNESCAP. The objective of the meeting was to discuss the challenges and achievements associated with collaborative partnerships.

CEO Anoulak Kittikhoun and China's Vice Minister of Water Resources Tian Xuebin discussed enhancing MRC-China ties by strengthening Lancang-Mekong cooperation. They aim to share operational data, link information sharing platforms, and establish joint institutional linkages.

This year's rainy season will be heavily impacted by El Nino! We forecast light to moderate rainfall in the coming weeks, especially over central to southern 🇱🇦, the Sekong-Sesan-Srepok area, & the eastern part of 🇰🇭.

Under the Joint Study, a visit was held in Chiang Saen station to meet with community reps based on Chiang Rai 🇹🇭& learn abt their experiences with the changing flow regime, its challenges on daily livelihoods, adaptation measures implemented & what recommendations for MRC-LMC.
