Popped into Waterstones Dundee to find them stocking all four books of the 'Miss Blaine's Prefect' series, published by Saraband Books. The latest, 'Miss Blaine's Prefect and the Gondola of Doom,' has apparently been selling particularly well - thank you, Dundee!

I’m really struggling with writers block atm. I finished Gallow Falls before I got ill last February. Luckily all the edits were done by then. Its a year later, delighted to be v v healthy- but I keep stopping and starting projects, abandoning them.

Some publishers are so tiny they literally can’t afford to enter really good books into prestigious prizes. That narrows the field down too. Does the cost need to be so high to enter books into the most prestigious prizes?

Wow, this article by Galley Beggar Press on the costs of producing and selling books is fascinating - and horrifying. If you value the books published by indie presses, do buy them! And even better, buy direct from the publisher where possible.
