My pleasure to have delegations back in the General Assembly hall for the first in-person plenary meeting since March. Grateful for the deeper partnerships we have forged since the outbreak of #COVID19 . I urge that we continue to do our best to achieve the SDGs & peace/security.

As the chief deliberative body, the #UNGA has continued working throughout this difficult period. It has done so in full partnership with the Secretariat and all other United Nations organs. We have ensured business continuity on critical issues for the Assembly and for the world 🇺🇳

Fruitful discussion this morning w/ PGA-elect Volkan BOZKIR, current & upcoming Chairs of the Main Committees. #Multilateralism is the only response to the global disruption we are experiencing. I commend the continued work of the Committees in the name of people the United Nations serves
