V useful meeting with Hilary Benn this evening, we had a very frank discussion on the stark challenges facing the Executive as we set the budget for this year and the need for a funding model for the Executive based on need, that is properly baselined & for multi-year budgets.

When 'Back in Business' was last in place during 2022/23, 101 businesses benefitted from the 50% rate reduction support - the majority being small independent retailers.

This helped businesses get started, supported jobs, and got long term vacant units back into use.

I am determined that this Executive will make childcare affordable and accessible for families.

And also supports childcare workers and providers, as many struggle to keep their doors open due to rising business costs.
