Robert Owen was born 253 years ago today in Newtown, Mid Wales - His ideas about class and society influenced the Rochdale Pioneers but were so radical (including a belief in spiritualism) that his burial there, at St Mary's church was considered controversial.

Thanks to generous funding, we are delivering free sessions in schools anywhere across the UK for a limited time.
