Resus Pieces I doubt it very much for trauma due to patient mix and geography. The case for non traumatic / medical cardiac arrest seems increasingly compelling so watch this space. Colleagues at EAAA RAID Group are working on this so things in the region (and wider EndoVascular resuscitation and Trauma Management ) looking good.

Further exciting work on IABP from Shad EAAA RAID Group @EastAngliAirAmb on applying their SPEAR work in IABP on OHCA, identifying increased DBP associated with improved ROSC, potential to help guide interventions to achieve improved results. Retrieval 2025 AMPA

Just had a preview of the EMTACCS Course in Bruges 🇧🇪

Carl Haentjens has done a phenomenal job to curate a 2 day resuscitation masterclass that goes beyond ALS with faculty who are leading the advancement of OHCA across Europe

Can’t wait!

Near Future directions resuscitation is going:

- intra arrest monitoring (echo+IBP) to optimise resus
- exploring tissue & cell targeted therapies (AMLS/SNAL)
- early mechanical perfusion (ECLS/SAAP etc)
- improving tissue perfusion (eg epi dosing)
- optimising ⚡️ therapy (DSD)

Natalie Kruit when building capability concentrate on upskilling a small group to build individual expertise and institutional know how.

The team needs to have an adequate “dose” of patients which isn’t possible with a large number of operators. Think 5 cannulators not 50!
