Wild orchids are back! This is a pretty pair of Green-winged Orchids, spotted today on a meadow we created on the edge of Castle Vale housing estate back in 2013. Over the coming weeks, they'll be joined by hundreds more! Brilliant, beautiful urban wildlife at its best!

We went to Sandwell Valley this morning, for hour or so,rspb. 1 Common Sandpiper, lrplover, 5 goosander, teal, nice to hear several willow warbler singing, blackcaps, ext.

We've spotted our first bee-fly of the year at our Winson Green headquarters! These fabulous insects look like a bee and buzz like a bumblebee, but they're really a species of fly! When the sun is out, you can spot them hovering as they feed on flowers. Have you ever seen one?
