Fantastic news - well done FBU Berkshire another FRS recognising the importance of 52 weeks maternity pay ✊ #fightfor52
Last year, The University of Central Lancashire - UCLan research commissioned by the FBU found that firefighters face an increased risk of cancer.
This has now been named one of the most downloaded cancer research papers by Scientific Reports in 2023.
The data is there. Now we need government and employer action.
And that’s a wrap! 2024 women’s school was as always a huge success. Empowering women in the fire and rescue service across the country. The main topics this year were, sexual harassment, the fight for 52 weeks maternity pay & celebrating 25 years of the NWC. #fightfor52

What a start to Women’s school! We had the sunshine ☀️ we had Laura Bates as our guest speaker talking about the everyday sexism project and most importantly we had 50 fantastic women trade unionists come together 💜💚🤍 Can’t wait for day 2 to begin Fire Brigades Union #fightfor52

On Mother’s Day let’s highlight the need for better maternity pay & protection for those who are breastfeeding in the FRS. That’s why Fire Brigades Union are campaigning for 52 weeks MAT pay. As FRS’s around the UK are starting to implement 52 weeks some are falling behind. #Fightfor52
