Cuckoo is difficult to catch up with locally nowadays so regular sightings around Fluke Hall have been very welcome, not everyone has been as lucky as
Paul Ellis
though when this one sat out for him
The last few days have been excellent for passage migrants on the Fylde Coast, Wood Warbler at Fluke Hall & Garden Warbler at New Ridge Farm yesterday photographed by Paul Ellis Remarkably the Wood Warbler was one of only two reported in the country yesterday !

It was a nice surprise to find 3 Spoonbills at Newton Marsh during a brief visit back home this afternoon; still a relatively scarce bird here and actually only the third time I have seen the species in the Fylde Bird Club recording area.
A good selection of spring migrants were on offer around Glasson and Conder Green today, including Sedge Warbler, Wheatear (8), Common Sandpiper (10), Swallows+ Sand Martins, and Willow Warblers Lancaster & District Birdwatching Fylde Bird Club

Red-rumped Swallow at Marton Mere, Blackpool yesterday. Another great find by Tony Sharples. The 2nd Fylde record of Red-rumped Swallow following the first twenty years ago in April 2004, also at the Mere! See: flickr.com/photos/fyldebi… Yesterday's photo by Paul Ellis
Absolutely fantastic work. Fylde Bird Club member Bob Danson is our local farmland bird champion, Tree Sparrow boxes in the hundreds if not thousands, two feeding stations & without the work of people like yourself and Bob the future would be far worse. Thank You 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Sketchy Video of 2 of the 3 Little Ringed Plover & photo of the long-staying Spotted Redshank seen today at Conder Pool (Conder Green) - persistent & heavy rain throughout the 2 hours but well worth the visit. Fylde Bird Club #lancashire
A few Mediterranean Gull's have been seen in recent weeks passing through Conder Pool, a second summer and an adult summer photographed yesterday by Paul Slade
Our winter Twite flock seems to have done the usual spring move away from Knott End slipway to the fields around Fluke Hall and along Fluke Hall Lane, this one superbly photographed last week by Paul Ellis showing off the distinctive pink rump
The Spotted Redshank at Conder Green showed very well on the incoming tide yesterday, just starting to show a few feathers moulting to summer plumage. Photo by Paul Slade
Ring Ouzel at New Ridge Farm, Pilling 31st March, showed well at times in stubble field west of Fluke Hall Car Park but could go missing regularly hiding in the thick hedgerow. Photo by Paul Ellis
