Just returned from an amazing trip to Heron Island Research Station
with St Michael's Grammar School year 10 students! We had amazing weather and the students saw healthy reefs at 8 different sites and 11 (!) different species of elasmobranchs! We even recaptured an epaulette shark from my PhD research π¦
And just like that, PostDoc life is finished (officially at least)! Thanks to all the lovely humans who have helped me throughout my academic career and now it's time for full time Scientific Officer life at Heron Island Research Station π
Great to be back on Heron Island as part of ARC research to understand how reefs work across temperate & tropical systems. 84 settlement tiles (10 by 10cm) deployed across 6 sites in Sep 22, 84 tiles retrieved as of yesterday π
