It was great to meet Ammar Ali Jan here in Chicago yesterday and hearing him speak at the Pakistan Progressive Forum! It was refreshing to learn about the progressive movements taking place across Pakistan, spanning from farmers to trade unions!

Another reason why WomenLift Health is fantastic—they provided childcare! Conference attendees shouldn’t have to decide between a professional opportunity and being a parent.

Here’s mehr manzoor with a very special conference attendee! 🥰

Global spaces are opportunities for policy formulation; there is need to remove structural barriers to these opportunities by considering localization of these spaces.

These include holding them in locations closer to the majority, and reducing visa barriers.

Harmful narratives often plague global health organizations:
Women are too emotional;
Women don’t ask;
You can either be a woman or a leader but not both; and
Women have an imposter syndrome when it’s really the systems that create such beliefs!

Finally had an opportunity to meet, in-person, the bold advocate for women’s rights and women’s leadership Helen Clark

She discussed the importance of quotas to advance women leaders and also moving beyond quotas to examine systemic issues
