Close to a million IDPs are now facing the prospect of spending a fourth rainy season away from their homes.

A few months ago I moved to Mekelle, Tigray. People ask me, how is life there? Remnants of the genocidal war that begun in November 2020 are seen all around us. The young man with a missing leg. The IDPs begging in the streets of the city. A generation of children not in school.

I just returned from academic fieldwork in Seba-Care IDPs site. The IDPs live in a deplorable condition with meager humanitarian support.They are living for 3yrs in tents originally meant for few months. It is critical that they obtain solutions before z start of the rainy season

People like Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov of UN Ethiopia may pile up whatever amount of lies they can to hide the crisis in Tigray, but the reality is that the entire region is one step away from a catastrophe.
