Today I joined mission to Dollo Ado with H.E. State Minister of Finance Semereta Sewasew and WFP Ethiopia Director Mr. Chris Nikoi to visit agro #foodsystems resilience initiative, one of the models we would like to scale to move to new ways of working in humanitarian/nexus field 1/5

1.5 years since inception we have 2 large cooperatives of farmers producing onions, papaya, sesame, watermelons, bananas and sunflowers. Income generated from year 1 allowed community to aquire tools and expand. Private sector is expanding and agro inputs are accessible 2/5

Sustainable access to water and energy is assured through solar pumps & power station and over 5 KM of water channels, next steps of climate adaption is introduction of 'half moon retention'. Farmers indicate on the need to improve storage and transportation & we are on it 3/5
