Recent aerial survey of Liffey Head blanket bog restoration site in Wicklow National Park where the aim is to bring water levels to the surface, where feasible. Images speak for themselves with raised water table levels now visible. Habitat monitoring will report more results.

Consulting with local communities on the implementation of the National Raised Bog Restoration Programme is a key component of our team's work. This week, we were at Crosswood Bog SAC (Co. Westmeath) discussing how to make restoration and amenity uses compatible.

It is very encouraging to see the early results of rehabilitation works in one of the Peatlands Climate Action Scheme bnmpcas.ie sites. The scheme main objective is rehabilitating circa 33,000 ha in over 80 Bord na Móna bogs.

Only 3 years after we implemented restoration works at Cloncrow Bog NHA, Westmeath & results are already exceeding expectations with Sphagnum dominating dammed drains & spreading on high bog & rewetted cutover. The future of Cloncrow Bog, Tyrrellspass, is bright and wet!!!
