South Sudanese returnees accounted for only 3% of the population at the time of the IPC but they make up 35% of those facing IPC5, the highest hunger level⚠️
In conflict, #water becomes a lifeline for children, ensuring their survival, health, & dignity.
Thanks to CERF - The UN's emergency fund, Auswärtiges Amt, Embassy of the Netherlands in South Sudan & Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, UNICEF is tirelessly providing clean water to children & families who fled the #SudanCrisis to enter #SouthSudan .
Its a year #SudanCrisis going on. Millions of people have been displaced and largest number being women & girls
Around 641,195 people crossed into #SouthSudan creating additional humanitarian needs in a country that is already suffering the effects of protracted multiple crises
In March, the needs of vulnerable people in #SouthSudan were driven by:

📉 worsening economic situation
📈 increase in food prices
➡️ conflict-fueled displacement
☣️ outbreaks of diseases

In March, 41 humanitarian access incidents were reported in #SouthSudan , with a 13% rise compared to February.
15 of these incidents involved violence against humanitarian staff and assets.

In the 1st Humanitarian Coordination Forum of 2024, Government counterparts, donors & partners discussed the overall humanitarian situation in #SouthSudan , including the impact of #SudanCrisis , and strengthening partnerships to address issues affecting humanitarian operations.
