At Association of American Cancer Institutes / AACR Joint Hill Day, Massey representatives speak with Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan senior policy adviser Melody Tan about their personal experiences with cancer.

Advocates ask Congress to appropriate $51.3 billion for the NIH and at least $7.9 billion for National Cancer Institute in FY25.

-Massey director Dr. Rob Winn tells Sen. Mark Warner legislative correspondent Jonah Kim that retention of the best and brightest scientists and advances in research depend on funding for the NIH and National Cancer Institute.

The Massey delegation met with Senator Tim Kaine fellow Hannah Kaufman to advocate for robust cancer research funding to help reduce disparities and increase survivorship and other positive effects.

Sen. Kaine is on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
