I remember when I spoke to Aiwanose Odafen, she said her new book was going to be sort of a sequel to TIBAW. But I didn't think the story could be told in the way she did it. We know the basics, three women meet at the back seat of a car and pledge to be friends forever.

Attended the prelaunch of WE WERE GIRLS ONCE hosted by Ouida Books. Had an amazing time & I'm really itching to read the book once it comes out. Grateful to Lọlá Shónẹ́yìn for hosting such an amazing event. I'm grinning from ear to ear having received an autograph Aiwanose Odafen.❤️

Such a lively event at University of Lagos yesterday evening. Aiwanose Odafen was warm and wise as always. Thank you to all the students who came to hang out with us in the temporary bookshop AKA the book palace. 🤩

I woke up with severe cramps today and had to call in sick at work, although it took everything in me (workaholic guilt). I later found strength to attend the Ouida pre-book launch because it was really close by. I am so glad I did.
Today was a good day.

Had such a swell time at Aiwanose Odafen's pre book launch today. It was so much fun listening to her talk about her new book and creative process. Literally counting down to the release date.
