At the Climate Reporting in Africa Conference by @APRI, UNU-FLORES’ Dr. Hey, Alexey & UNICEF Goodwill Amb. Vanessa Nakate discussed Africa's climate challenges. A 2023 #UNICEF report shows that children in 48 out of 49 African countries at high/extreme risk of climate effects.

UNU-FLORES doctoral researchers presented their work to the ASEAN delegation, highlighting their research activities across ASEAN countries. The delegation received an overview of ongoing initiatives, including AID, SNF, and the Post-Mining Landscape Restoration Workshop.

The ASEAN delegation visited the Cube, one of the world's first buildings made of carbon concrete—using carbon fibre instead of steel for reinforcement.

The use of carbon concrete reduces emissions and aligns with the #ResourceNexus approach & promoting sustainability.

The Post-Mining Landscape Restoration Workshop held in partnership with the #G20LandInitative is currently underway, drawing participants from across the world and featuring a range of speakers and experts in the field.

Behind the Scenes: Post-Mining Land Restoration

In collaboration with the G20 Global Land Initiative, we're gearing up to host delegates from more than 30 nations in Dresden, Germany, for the Post-Mining Land Restoration workshop tomorrow.

Took a restorative break in historic #Oderbruch , known for its 18th-century #FloodProtection system. Marshlands were transformed into farmland with dikes, canals, and drainage, integrating the #ResourceNexus . Despite floods, the resilient infrastructure sets a global standard.
