I'd be less concerned if the article didn't go straight into justifying this as a quick and cheap way to recruit drivers, betraying the true motive with the line about voluntary overtime.

What could possibly go wrong? ๐Ÿค”

Suddenly the amount of passengers wearing pride lanyards has boomed. Can't think why. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

Thanks Late Turn for sharing this image with me. Youโ€™re absolutely right, it demonstrates not only a powerful Aurora but also badly designed lighting that pollutes the skies and waters below the Forth.

We need better lighting design across the U.K. to stop exactly this.

I saw this and thought of Dani Robertson! An incredible photo, but ironically one that perfectly illustrates the problem that made it so much harder for so many to enjoy the show over the weekend.

At least two of the departures before 0630 were domestic flights, one to Edinburgh and one to Aberdeen.

If only there was a proposal for some other way to get from London to Scotland quickly. By rail, perhaps.

Would you support that to reduce flights from Heathrow, Greg Hands?

Whereas the series of proposals contained within the rather insulting 'plan for drivers' from your boss is of course fully funded, using money 'reallocated' from HS2 that doesn't actually exist because it is funded by borrowing against future revenue.

Make it make sense ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Who knew that seemingly calm and collected motorists are so easily and quickly turned into raging monsters, a collision with the car in front preferable to letting in that other car that's legitimately trying to merge in turn ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

(I beat them all, in the adjacent cycle lane)

What would really benefit those who *need* to drive?

Sensible initiatives to make it easier, safer and more attractive for others to make short journeys on foot or by cycle, thus reducing congestion.

London clearly doesn't back your plan, and neither do many of the rest of us.

A lovely and peaceful few hours at Swithland, only really serving to break the section for one pair of trains on a short headway today.

29' to cycle what Google gives as a 17' car journey, too. Why *wouldn't* you?!

There can't be a single person out there who wasn't thinking 'I wish the sky was darker' as they tried to watch nature's amazing spectacle last night.

Most of us contribute to light pollution in one way or another. DO YOUR BIT!

That so many working people are in a position where they probably *can't* afford to go on strike, just shows how important strength in unity is for workers.

If only money was as easy to grow as concrete is.

The irony is that train companies under DfT control aren't allowed to make any public statements like this without the DfT's approval. What's the chances that the DfT would let them tell the truth?

Pay and conditions are inexorably linked.

We just want a genuinely fair and reasonable pay rise, to balance 30% inflation since our last.

The Government is the one that wants to rip up our T&Cs, with or without a pay deal.
