In a healthy city no one should have to “dry fast” until they reach a restaurant or pub.

Providing places for people to go to the loo for free is a basic element of a civilised city so everyone whatever their income has the security of knowing “they can go when they need to go”.

England should introduce legislation similar to Public Health (Wales) Act 2017 and require councils to develop and implement local toilet strategies in consultation with local residents. Sian Berry
