Today, we’re at the DC Council with allies and grassroots leaders from all across DC.

The DC Council is about to pass the Healthy Homes Act, legislation that will help 30,000 homes across DC switch from dirty fuels to clean electric, protect health, & lower utility bills!

For years, the DC Chapter has been part of a citizen science effort with Beyond Gas partners to find methane leaks and monitor indoor air pollution.

This morning Charles Allen announced the Healthy Homes Act will receive a committee vote on Monday morning at 9 am during a press conference called by Chesapeake Climate, Sierra Club DC Chapter, WIN DC, and Interfaith Power & Light to protest PROJECTPipes and push to transition to clean electric energy in DC.

For decades cities and states have competed for stadium deals that were terrible for taxpayers. So I have a challenge for Mayor Muriel Bowser- let’s compete by both offering $0 in taxpayer dollars to these teams and let them decide where they want to pay to build their own arena.

Folks are making fun of this photo for its lack of diversity but I disagree, it's very diverse!

The room includes a mix of people who post anonymous Washington Post comments, GOP Hill staffers, people who think Council members have the same power as Governors, and PotomacFever!

Utility ratepayer advocate DC People's Counsel requests that DC Public Service Commission open an investigation into Washington Gas dirty energy pipelines, noting the utility's $14 billion Project Pipes plan 'does not align with the new, fossil-free future that the Council has charted.'
