Our new paper (from Mathilde Jackson-Bué PhD thesis) examines the structure of fish assemblages within UK kelp forests. Hopefully the start of a useful baseline for monitoring. We were surprised to see such clear trends in fish diversity with latitude 🧐🐟🌱🌞🌊

Last week we came across a non native, drifting bull kelp (Durvillea) in Ryder Bay British Antarctic Survey 🐧 Rafts can transport other non native species to the continent. We found open water goose barnacles (Lepas australis). These are not a threat but harmful invaders can also hitch a ride
