On the recent Naturetrek staff day out we enjoyed a cruise along the Beaulieu River to The Solent with lovely close up views of both Grey and Common Seal, Peregrines, Whimbrels, Avocets, Ringed Plover, a Knot and some lovely views.

White-winged W’pecker, Saxaul Sparrow & Yellow-eyed Pigeon during a brilliant early session nr Araltobe, Kazakhstan with Naturetrek this am. Also Turkestan Tit, Shikra, Oriental HBuzzard, Roller, Golden Oriole, migrant Common Rock Thrush & more.

Cracking Day 2 leading the Naturetrek Spring in Estonia birding tour. A flock of 16.000 LT Ducks on the sea, Lesser and white-backed woodpeckers, Attenborough moment then juv Goshawk attacked the Tawny at front of us and finished the day with killer views of the Pygmy Owl.

Last day in glorious Tuscany for Naturetrek Go-Slow: Six-spot Burnet, Golden Oriole, Five-Spot Burnet and then, last thing back at the hotel after seeing Ospreys with no fish at Orbetello lagoon all day, this one flies over the hotel in Alberese from goodness knows where...

Today finishes the Naturetrek Great Whales in the Azores (Pico) tour and OMG what a way to end! Throughout the week stunning views of many Sperm Whales, two Fin Whales, and to top it all off today we had a group of Risso's Dolphins and one gorgeous Humpback Whale!

A splendid morning at Cape Kaliakra, Bulgaria with the Naturetrek group. Overnight rain resulted in an excellent movement of warblers (mostly Willow), shrikes and flycatchers, but for me the star was always going to be Pied Wheatear - here a female and a 2nd year male

Cracking day for the boat trip to Giglio Island with Naturetrek clients yesterday with Shearwaters galore following the boat. Last day today and it's going to be a scorcher!

As Naturetrek Bulgaria group drove north to Kavarna, deep in the aquarium light of a coastal forest, a client found this little black-and-white gem - a male Semi-collared Flycatcher
