Yesterday in Trinidad and Tobago I visited the Asa Wright Center, guardian of approximately 1,500 acres of forested land.

This is a prime example of the country’s commitment to biodiversity and conservation that the United Nations is proud to support.

I had a very good meeting with Ministry of Planning T&T Minister Pennelope Beckles ahead of the UN Biodiversity Conference #COP15 next week.

🇬🇧 & 🇹🇹 have many shared priorities. Impacts of nature loss are felt across all sectors. Global and local economic prosperity depends on biodiversity.

This afternoon, I had a useful and informative meeting with Minister Pennelope Beckles🌐 at #COP27 .

The Minister & I discussed the recent climate change impacts being felt by #TrinidadandTobago , #Caribbean and the wider #Commonwealth , as well as how @CommonwealthSec is assisting 🇹🇹.
