Chaparral Mallow, or Malacothamnus fasciculatus, is an evergreen shrub with pink flowers that grow in clusters along it's branches.

Western Sycamore (Platanus racemora) have twisted branches, large leaves that turn orange-yellow in autumn, and are generally found near creeks and rivers.
Hidden Valley Park is home to one of our staff's favorite Sycamores, on the bank of Arroyo Burro.
