This church was built next to the spot in Rouen where she was burnt. I visited very early in the day after a couple of years ago and had the place to myself.

Visited the abandoned village of Tyneham in Dorset this morning. Taken over by the British Army 🇬🇧 in December 1943 in preparation for D-Day the villagers were meant to return following the war but never did.

❤️ For all those veterans unable to make it to the beaches, D-Day ceremonies and memorial grounds to stand where their comrades fell.

1/2 absolutely love this image of one the WAAF/WRAF/RAF(A) Veterans with a captivated audience of serving RAF ladies at the DDay75 Commemorative events in June, Bessie is 95 and amazing, just like the other ex WAAF ladies I’ve been lucky enough to speak to recently.
