In between community engagements I am reading all of your beautiful messages and taking all of your calls. Thank you to everyone. I am truly grateful. This work is what gives me hope. #EndFGM220
As we watch and participate in Gambia's #ENDFGM220 are we also willing to look at ourselves in the mirror and agree that there's a problem? Especially in the family set up?
Do we understand why we're advocating for protection of life and ending harmful practices?
This morning in Latrikunda with National Youth Parliament-The Gambia in continuation of our national sensitization program against FGM. #EndFGM220
We need to discuss this too, also on the backdrop of #ENDFGM220 .
An 18 month old baby being SA'd is the lowest a society could go.
This is just too much.
Too much.

So today my message isto development partners. They need to understand that grassroots organizations on the ground donβt have the resources to react to situations like the one we are facing in the Gambia. So many great organizations want to do so much but canβt. #EndFGM220
Along with National Youth Parliament-The Gambia we were also honored to be joined by Hon. Modou Lamin B. Bah a National Assembly member from Banjul. With National Assembly members like you, we know that the law to protect girls will remain intact. #EndFGM220
Today in partnership with The Youth Parliament-GM we were in Banjul with religious and community members to discuss the issue of #FGM . I am so happy that one of the scholars from the supreme Islamic council was there and we had very meaningful conversations. #EndFGM220

My National Assembly member and a member of our political party today joined our team in Serekunda! #EndFGM220 Safe Hands For Girls National Youth Parliament-The Gambia
I was initially afraid of going back into the communities because of how polarized the issue of FGM is at the moment in our country but I am so grateful to my team members for pushing me and the team to do the difficult but necessary work. Yeup yen la. #EndFGM220
Some of the law enforcement officers that were there with us did not believe type three FGM happens in the Gambia until some of the women explained it themselves. This is the only way we will learn and bring change. #EndFGM220
