. European Commission against Racism and Intolerance 2023 Annual Seminar with #EqualityBodies : Enhancing independence and effectiveness
During my meeting with MEP Robert Biedroń, Chair of FEMM Committee Press Committee, I thanked him for his strong & solid support on the proposal for an EU #StopViolenceAgainstWomen Directive.
We also had good discussions on the #EqualityBodies proposal.
I am grateful to the @eu2023es and the European Parliament for the fruitful exchange during the 1st trialogue on a proposal for a directive on standards for #EqualityBodies .
Binding standards will ensure a common minimum level of protection against discrimination.

Today the European Parliament and EU Council reached political agreement on the European Commission legislative proposal for binding standards for #EqualityBodies ! This will further ensure people facing #discrimination reaching their #FundamentaIRights & build towards a #UnionOfEquality
I thank the European Parliament for its vote in #EPPlenary in favour of the new directives on standards for #EqualityBodies .
I look forward to the #EPSCO meeting to reach this law’s final adoption.
