Of the many challenges India faces right now, low quality research work is on the top. The only solution to this problem is adequate investment in R n D. Paying researchers well will not only improve quality of research but also attract best minds in Research.

From 5000 in 1999 to 37k in 2023, it is approximately 8.70% CAGR. If you calculate the Inflation rate then it would be 22,683 in 2023. Still we have 14k extra in our pockets.

What should be our main concern?
Inflation rate or the Increment rate?

Disheartening development, the DSTIndia and the GOI have gave minimal increment in the JRF stipends in the past 24 years, with a meager rise of 19.4%. The time has come for the change of the government in 2024 election

We are working for our country. We need to focus on research work not for this hike in fellowship. Again and again making us to do campaign. We not want this please understand.

We are researcher not a professional protester. But in every four years we are coming on street for our demand to fulfill our basic need. We deserve this hike in fellowship but still waiting DSTIndia.

The recent increase of 19.4% in fellowships is deemed unacceptable. We strongly advocate for a significant 60% hike in fellowship rates! In response to this concern, All India Research Scholars Association has scheduled a meeting to discuss & support to our valued scholars.
