With the passing of Sqn Ldr Majithia, the likely oldest surviving fighter pilot baton passes on to AVM Yeshwant Ramachandra Agtey. He turns 100 in 6 months!

Commissioned in 1943 (19 Pilot Course), he fought in Burma. Later commanded 8 Sqn, Jorhat and Adampur.

The Navigation Training School is celebrating the Platinum Jubilee on 01-02 Mar 24. The NTS, the Alma Mater of the IAF Navigators, was established in 1946 at RIAF Stn, Tambaram. as ‘Air Navigation School, RIAF’. 1/8

air operations till 0900 hrs on 16 Dec 71 was extended to 1500 hrs on request of the Pak Army which wanted time to inform it's troops & arrange a surrender ceremony. This extension meant that the day's first air strike had to be recalled. #1971War #IAFHistory

Air-Land operations also began, with AN-12 aircraft dropping 48x500 lbs bombs on enemy targets in the Changa Manga area, resulting in fires in a possible supply dump.
